Today is National 529 Day – reminding families and friends that it has never been easier to help save for a child’s future. A 529 Plan is a tax-deferred, tax-free investment vehicle designed to support qualified higher education expenses. Congress created 529 Education Savings Plans in 1996 under Section 529 of the Internal Revenue Code, and nearly all 529 Plans are affiliated with a State sponsor.
Today, we highlight the work of the College Savings Foundation (CSF), a Washington, D.C.-based not-for-profit organization with the mission of helping American families achieve their education savings goals by working with public policymakers, media representatives, and financial services industry executives in support of education savings programs. A primary focus of CSF is building public awareness of and providing public policy support for 529 plans.
They recently issued the results of their 2024 Youth Survey: What Gen Z Wants from Higher Ed and How They Will Pay for It.
Imagine helping families realize their educational goals and change the trajectory of their futures. You can give the gift of education savings by becoming a member of CSF. If you support the CSF through donations, volunteering, or other giving, be sure to track your generosity in Benefact4 so you can amplify the good you’re doing, while encouraging others to give back.
